Government Extends Company Compliance Scheme Deadline to September 15
New Delhi: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the Companies Compliance Facilitation Scheme, 2026 (CCFS-2026) until September 15, 2026, giving eligible companies another opportunity to complete pending statutory filings.

The extension was announced on August 31 through General Circular No. 04/2026, after companies and other stakeholders requested additional time. The previous deadline was August 31.

More Time for Pending Filings

The scheme is designed to help companies clear pending filings on the MCA-21 registry, including annual returns and financial statements. It also provides options for eligible inactive companies to apply for dormant status or closure under the scheme.

The CCFS-2026 was originally introduced in February and came into effect from April 15. Its deadline was subsequently extended from July 15 to August 31 before the latest extension.

Relief for Companies

The scheme is particularly relevant to companies that have fallen behind on statutory compliance and may otherwise face additional filing costs. The government introduced the scheme as a one-time opportunity to improve compliance and keep corporate records updated.

Companies Should Act Quickly

With the revised deadline now set for September 15, eligible companies have a short additional window to complete their filings and take advantage of the scheme's provisions.

Editorial Insight | Signature Media News

The extension provides practical relief to companies that need more time to regularise their records. However, with only an additional 15 days available, businesses should avoid waiting until the final date to complete their filings.
