Mumbai : Wipro is moving to make artificial intelligence a larger part of enterprise technology, expanding its Google Cloud partnership while increasing the number of specialists equipped to work on AI-led projects.
The company plans to empower more than 10,000 AI-certified specialists, including 1,500 Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs). The initiative is focused on helping businesses improve productivity, simplify operations and make faster decisions through AI.
The partnership will centre on Gemini Enterprise and agentic AI, with the technologies being brought into business workflows and customer-facing platforms.
Turning AI into action
For Wipro, the focus is shifting from testing AI capabilities to putting them into wider business use.
The company has introduced the LIFT framework — Launch, Ignite, Flywheel, Transform — to support enterprises at different stages of AI adoption.
Wipro is combining Gemini Enterprise with its AI platforms, WINGS and WEGA, with the aim of enabling secure and autonomous AI agents to handle multi-step processes.
Kanwar Singh, Managing Partner and Global Head of Technology Services at Wipro, said:
“By strengthening Wipro Intelligence™ with Gemini Enterprise, we are embedding intelligence into everyday core operations, helping clients scale outcomes, adapt faster, and compete more effectively in a dynamic environment.”
Building a specialised team
A major part of the initiative is the creation of a team of more than 1,500 certified Forward Deployed Engineers. These engineers will work at the implementation stage, helping customers take AI projects beyond initial trials and integrate them into larger business operations.
The company is also bringing Antigravity Command-Line Interface into its software engineering ecosystem. The technology is designed to support developers across areas including planning, coding, testing and application modernisation.
AI moves beyond experiments
The development comes as businesses increasingly look for practical returns from their AI investments. Instead of using AI only for individual tasks, enterprises are exploring its use across wider operational and technology functions.
Wipro's approach combines trained talent, AI platforms and cloud technology, giving the company a broader base from which to support clients adopting AI at scale.

The important shift is not simply the number of people Wipro is training. It is the company's attempt to build the talent and implementation capacity needed to turn AI from an experiment into an everyday business tool.
With 10,000-plus AI-certified specialists and 1,500 Forward Deployed Engineers, Wipro is positioning AI execution as a core part of its technology-services strategy.
